Research-led expertise in digital culture.
I run an independent research practice “Digital Culture Research Studio”, which specialises in providing research and cultural intelligence for organisations making strategic, curatorial, educational, and communications decisions.
We work with museums, universities, foundations, media organisations, public institutions, creative agencies, and brands seeking a deeper understanding of digital culture and online communities. Our research draws on internet studies, sociology, digital media and marketing, and qualitative research. We investigate the cultures, communities, behaviours, images, technologies, and vernaculars that emerge online: from memetic media and algorithmic cultures to new ways of being online.
Since 2023, we have completed 15 commissioned projects for 14 organisations across seven countries, spanning curatorial advisory, commissioned research and writing, workshop facilitation, and public speaking.
Based in Amsterdam, my digital cultural research studio is available for commissions, collaborations, and bespoke projects.
